Rick Anicetti

Rick Anicetti is a business executive, teacher, mentor and motivational speaker with almost 40 years of food retailing experience — almost a third of which has been in the capacity as Chief Executive Officer. As such, he has experienced firsthand the dramatic correlation between an organization’s ability to achieve success and the capability of the team it fields, particularly its leaders. Leadership is a subject for which Anicetti has tremendous passion and has spent the majority of his career exploring its understanding and how to leverage its impact, particularly with others. This is no more relevant than in today’s crowded, competitive, fast-paced marketplace, where leadership is about bringing possibility into reality with velocity.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Anicetti was most recently CEO at The Fresh Market, based in Greensboro, NC. The Fresh Market is a small box, premium, specialty, and gourmet food retailer focused on providing its guests with the highest quality and delicious fresh food. The Fresh Market operates 176 stores in 24 states, with its greatest density in the southeast. Previously, Anicetti was president and chief executive officer of Food Lion LLC, where he oversaw the retail operations of more than 1,200 Food Lion LLC stores and six distribution centers across 11 states. Additionally, Anicetti had responsibility for corporate development, legal affairs and government relations, information technology, finance and accounting, corporate communications, public relations, organizational change management, and human resources. Anicetti joined Food Lion LLC as chief operating officer in August 2000. He assumed the position of president of Food Lion LLC in 2001 and was promoted to chief executive officer in 2002. Anicetti began his career at Scarborough, Maine-based Hannaford Bros., where he worked for 20 years in leadership roles in a variety of disciplines, including operations, merchandising, marketing, and human resources.

LEADERSHIP CONSULTING EXPERIENCE

In addition to providing general leadership consulting, strategic planning, business process redesign, organizational change management and executive coaching, Anicetti served as a strategic advisor to Ares Private Equity Management where, in addition to providing consulting services to a number of its brands, served on the Board of 99 Cents Only Stores (where he also served as Interim CEO while a search for a new CEO was conducted across North America), the Board of Smart and Final (a publicly traded company), and the US Advisory Board for Brambles Ltd, a logistics company headquartered in Sydney Australia. Anicetti was also a former member of the Board of Directors for A&P Supermarkets.

 


Carol Marsh

Carol Marsh draws upon a diverse 30 year career as a Human Resources and Talent professional to help leaders become learners and build high performance cultures.

Carol partners with executives to solve their most pressing problems by applying well-honed business acumen, strategic thinking, change management and facilitation skills.

CORPORATE EXPERIENCE

Carol served as an internal consultant and HR Business Partner to organizations—including Lincoln Financial, Sunoco, and 7-Eleven—in a range of industries: for-profit and not-for-profit; medium sized privately held businesses and large multinational corporations in banking, higher education, retail, petroleum/petrochemicals, transportation and financial services.

She designed and delivered corporate leadership development programs, partnered with leaders to improve the performance of their teams, and advised executives on a wide range of HR and talent-related issues, such as organization design and corporate restructuring.  Sought-out for her technical expertise on the “people-side” of driving business results, Carol added value as a sounding board and thought partner when executives had to make big-bet decisions. She has been the recipient of a national award for employee development and multiple excellence awards in the organizations where she has worked.

In addition to consulting expertise, Carol has experience in corporate learning and organizational development.  For example, she has created and facilitated interpersonal and technical training for 4,700 retail outlets, and five refining facilities, developed leading edge mobile training, and provided franchisee and dealer business orientation.

Earlier in her career, Carol managed an HR services team of 60 people supporting an employee base of 8,400 in four states.  Her team created a new model of HR service delivery that included recruiting, employee development, compensation and training.

CONSULTING APPROACH

Carol builds trusted relationships with her clients that allow them to identify desired outcomes, build a plan and define measurable mileposts of success.

She is a master facilitator, having designed and implemented leadership development programs for thousands of employees based on assessments and curricula in which she is certified, such as Crucial Conversations, Strength Deployment Inventory, DISC, Situational Leadership and Trusted Advisor.  Carol is also highly experienced as a process facilitator, particularly in the areas of senior leadership team meetings, strategy sessions and team offsites.

 


Chris CriswellChris Criswell

Chris focuses on using assessment tools to grow leaders and predict meaningful workplace outcomes. She provides research and consulting services around talent management strategy, leadership assessment and coaching, employee selection, succession planning, and performance modeling.

She enjoys working with her clients to design and author feedback reports and coaching materials, integrating across multiple sources and assessments to create a holistic, person-centered view of a leader.

Chris also provides counsel on research design, test validation techniques, and issues around integrating assessments into existing internal processes. She advises clients regarding employment law concerns, bringing in other legal resources where appropriate, and also conducts non-financial due diligence assessments for M&A and venture capital prospects.

Chris served as Director of Research & Development for FurstPerson, a boutique consulting firm specializing in innovative assessment usage within the contact center industry. She also served as an HR Strategist for JP Morgan Chase and Washington Mutual banks, and held several roles within the research department at Hogan Assessment Systems.

She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The University of Tulsa, and holds a BA in Psychology and International Studies from Drury University in Springfield, MO. Chris is a frequent presenter and speaker at industry conferences, and an author of numerous technical manuals and reports for her clients.
